Setting up your training profile
How your goal, experience, frequency, duration, and equipment shape your plan.
Updated August 18, 2026
What goes into your profile
Your training profile is built from the answers you give during onboarding: your goal, your experience level, how many days a week you want to train, how long your sessions run, and the equipment you have available. Together these determine the workouts EVEX builds for you, so it is worth getting them right, and easy to fix if you don't.
How each input shapes your plan
- Goal: sets the general direction of your training and influences exercise selection and rep ranges.
- Experience level: adjusts how much guidance and how much complexity shows up in your workouts.
- Training frequency: the number of days a week you plan to train. This becomes your weekly goal and is the backbone of how many training days your split includes.
- Session duration: how long you want a typical workout to run, which controls how much volume EVEX packs into each session.
- Equipment: what you actually have access to, whether that's a full gym, a home setup, or just your bodyweight. EVEX only builds workouts around equipment you've told it about.
Changing your profile later
None of these are locked in after onboarding. You can update your goal, frequency, duration, and equipment any time from Workout Settings. If you're running the EVEX Adaptive Split when you change something that affects your split, EVEX asks whether you want to rebuild your split right away with Rebuild Now, or wait until the plan naturally resets with Next Monday. See The EVEX Adaptive Split for more on how that works.
If you're not running the Adaptive Split, changing your training frequency updates your weekly goal directly, since your weekly goal follows your manual setting whenever a split isn't actively managing it. See Weekly goals and streaks.
