Getting started with EVEX

What to expect from onboarding, your first plan, and your first workout.

Updated August 18, 2026

Onboarding walkthrough

When you open EVEX for the first time, onboarding takes you through a short set of questions: your name, your goal, your experience level, how many days a week you want to train, how long your sessions should run, and what equipment you have access to. Each answer feeds directly into the plan EVEX builds for you, so answer for the training you can actually do, not the training you wish you could do.

You don't need an account to get started. You can try EVEX anonymously first and sign in with Apple later, or sign in right away. See Accounts and signing in for how linking an anonymous account works.

Your plan preview

Once onboarding is complete, EVEX builds a personalized training plan from your answers and shows you a preview before you commit to anything. This preview reflects your goal, your weekly frequency, and the equipment you told it about, so it's a good moment to check that everything looks right. Most inputs can be adjusted later without starting over. See Setting up your training profile.

Your first workout

From the plan preview, EVEX generates your first workout. You can start it right away, or head to the Train tab and see it queued up as your next workout. Logging works the same way it will for every workout after: check off sets as you complete them, adjust weight and reps as needed, and finish when you're done. See Logging workouts and sets for the details on set types and how logging works.

Where to go next

Once you've logged a workout or two, it's worth understanding how EVEX schedules your training over time. Instead of a calendar-based plan, EVEX moves through your split as a rolling queue that tracks your progress, not the day of the week. Read The complete guide to splits in EVEX to see how that works, or check Weekly goals and streaks to see how your weekly goal and streak are calculated.
